Crypto counterparty verification

Crypto due diligence — know who's really on the other side of a USDT transfer

Before you move USDT or any other cryptocurrency, or accept a wallet, exchange or custodian as a counterparty, we check traceability, mandate consistency and the warning signs that matter. We also advise on cold-storage protocols for businesses that hold treasury in crypto.

When it fits

This engagement is appropriate when:

  • 01

You're about to send or receive USDT or another cryptocurrency to or from an unfamiliar counterparty, exchange or custodian.

  • 02

You've been offered a wallet or platform with no verifiable track record and no confirmed VASP registration or licence.

  • 03

You need the declared mandate, the source of funds and the proposed transaction to actually line up.

  • 04

Your business wants a proper cold-storage protocol for treasury — we advise on controls and safeguards, we don't set up or hold wallets ourselves.

What you'll be able to decide after this work

You'll come away with a clear read on the counterparty's traceability and consistency, plus a workable custody and internal-control protocol so you can operate with more confidence and stay on the right side of the rules.

Typical situation

A counterparty proposes a digital-asset transaction, but identity, source of funds or custody logic is not sufficiently documented

The review should separate what can be verified, what remains uncertain and which risks must be accepted or rejected.

What you receive

A defined, verifiable scope you can actually use

01

Counterparty verification: declared identity, VASP registration where applicable and mandate consistency

02

Review of available on-chain traceability for the wallet or transaction (history, patterns and red flags)

03

Flagging of impossible or inappropriate protocols and intermediation in the proposed transaction

04

A cold-storage and internal-control protocol: role separation, multi-signature setup and good practice for moving corporate funds

05

A reasoned recommendation: proceed, request further guarantees, or walk away

How we work

You know the process before it starts

  1. 01

Intake of transaction data, address or wallet, and available documentation

  2. 02

Scoping the network, exchange, amount and exposure

  3. 03

Checks against available on-chain and registry sources

  4. 04

Focused report, custody protocol and explanation of findings

Before you engage

Clear limitations also build trust

Do you hold my funds, wallets or private keys?

No. We don't custody assets, generate or store private keys, or execute transactions on a client's behalf. We advise on risk, traceability and custody protocols; ownership and control of the assets always stay with the client or with an authorised custodian.

Do you certify that a wallet or counterparty is "safe"?

No. We identify information, inconsistencies and risk, fraud or traceability signals within an agreed scope; no check removes all the inherent risk of digital assets.

Do you help get around anti-money-laundering (AML) controls or hide the source of funds?

No. This service operates within the applicable AML framework. If a transaction would need to be reported to an obliged entity, or can't show a lawful source of funds, we'll tell you and the engagement stops there.

Does this replace a lawyer or a licensed virtual-asset service provider (VASP)?

No. Where regulated custody, tax advice or legal work is needed, we bring in specialist professionals with clearly defined responsibilities.

Can you look into an overseas counterparty or exchange?

Yes, subject to the availability, quality and cost of on-chain and registry sources for the relevant country or network.
